No New Posts The Private Barn

This is where all the horses owned by the Hansons are stabled. The barn can hold up to fifteen horses with relative ease and the stalls are large and open up onto a central aisle. Each stall also opens via a dutch door to the main stableyard, and there is a small feed and tack room for the Hanson family's personal use.

No New Posts The Boarding Barn

This is a large and beautifully refurbished barn that can house fifty horses quite comfortably. Each stall has dutch-doors that open to the main stableyard, and there is a wash bay and small locker area where boarders can store their gear whilst they are working with their horse(s).

No New Posts Breeding Stock Barn

This is where any broodmares or stallions that are owned by boarders are stabled. The stalls are large and neat, covered in pine shavings, and there is always plenty of access to small turnout yards. This barn is a little off the main stableyard to ensure that the sensitive stallions do not become aggressive or excited by the daytime activity.

No New Posts Boarder's Lounge

This is where boarders at Wattle Creek can relax after a long day of working and riding. There is a large bookshelf containing many horse and non-horse related novels, as well as many training and eventing videos that can be viewed.
If the weather is either too hot or cold, then Natalie will conduct a lesson based on theory here.

No New Posts The Tack Room

The tack room is a neat and orderly, and each boarder's tack is carefully stored on hooks and racks that have the owner's name engraved below on a brass plate. There are several large tack boxes where blankets and halters can be kept, and many supplements and training videos are stored here for use by boarders.

No New Posts Exercise Pool

This is situated in the main stableyard, and it allows horses who have damaged their legs/ligaments to be gently re-introduced to work, and to build up muscle tone and stamina. However any horses can use the pool, as long as it is kept clean and equipment is put away correctly.

No New Posts Covered Round Pen

The round pen is designed for both safety and ease of mind, making it the perfect place to lunge or bond with your horse. The surface is a silty gravel and it is kept free from weeds, droppings and rubble. The sides are tall enough to deter a spooked horse from jumping, and this means that there will be no runaways. Also it is covered by a roof, allowing work to be done even in wet conditions.

No New Posts Main Outdoor Arena

This is a large arena that is covered in fine gravel, which will not injure the horses’ hooves. The white dressage markers are clearly defined, and this is the one arena where there is access to interchangeable and varying jumps, cavalletti and trot poles. This arena is raked on a daily basis ensuring that there is no rubbish or manure left lying overnight.

No New Posts Outdoor Dressage Arena

Like the main outdoor arena, the surface is covered with a fine gravel that prevents injury and provides a good working area. The dressage arena is raked daily, and is kept impeccably neat, with the letters clearly distinguishable and any rubbish removed.

No New Posts Horse Trails

These expansive trails cover over ten miles of forest and bushland, and they provide a chance for boarders to escape the hectic life of serious competition. There are several different routes to choose from, but all of the trails gradually wind back to the barn.

No New Posts Small Turnout Paddock

This paddock is designed so that turnout can be rotated throughout the day. This smaller paddock is also fenced with post and wire, and there is an automated trough to provide a constant source of water. There are two run-in sheds here to compensate for lack of natural shelter.

No New Posts Large Turnout Paddock

This is the largest of the three paddocks at Hideaway, and there are plenty of aspen and elder trees to create natural shelter for the horses. The fencing is post and wire, and there are two run-in sheds. An automated water trough saves time on refilling buckets up and carrying them to the paddock, and is much more economical.
