Sara checked Class's girth one last time. She walked into the show jumping arena, seeing that no one was there. Sara set up a few jumps, and mounted her mare from the 3-step mounting block in the large arena.
As the jumps started to reach 3 feet, Sara gave Class a walk break. Sara knew that she could get off him and set up more jumps, and he could walk himself around. She did that and re-mounted.
The jumps set up were:
The order Sara first thought of was:
Windmill
Butterfly
Diamonds
Argyle Triple
Mardi Gras Oxer
Flag Double
Blue Heron Liverpool
Spiral Oxer
Block Oxer

Sara started a circle at the canter.
Easy. She told Class, whose canter was quick. Sara collected him, and then pointed him towards the Windmill. Class's ears pricked forward, and she delightedly jumped the 3 foot 2 inch vertical. Straight ahead was the Butterfly jump. Collecting, then extending, Sara counted to herself, One, two, three. Class cleared the 3 foot vertical. It was then a roll back to the Diamonds. Class almost knew what the next jump was, as Sara stared it down. Again, she lined up Class and counted down. 3, 2, 1. Beans effortlessly cleared the 3 foot vertical. Next, there was a bit of a lead change to the Argyle Triple.
C'mon boy! Sara said excitedly. Sara did all she needed to do, line Class up. She gave him a squeeze before every jump, and Class bounced right through them with some effort. Giving him a pat and a stroke on the neck she galloped him to the Mardi Gras Oxer that was a bit over to the left. She did the exact same as she always did, and Class cleared the oxer set at 3 foot 4 inches. Next was the simple Flag Double. Lining Class up, she pushed him over the first of two jumps. Keeping her legs on him, Sara straightened Class out, and easily jumped the roll top 2nd fence. Turning to the right sharply, the Blue Heron liverpool lay ahead. Class wasn't scared of liverpools, he just was a bit distracted by them. Sara turned Class’s attention back to reality, and gave him big kick and a squeeze to jump and clear the 3 foot 7 inch liver pool vertical. Class hit the top rail hard, rattling it.
Stay, stay, stay. Sara could only think to herself, not looking back. At a bit of an angle, the Spiral Oxer lay ahead. The back rail was at 3 foot 5, when the top rail was at 3 foot 3. Sara could feel Class focusing on the back rail. She lined him up, and gave him his head, plus a little squeeze. Class went flat over the oxer, but cleared it, barely. As the Block Oxer came into sight, Sara remembered that she had set the oxer to be a square oxer. Giving Class a squeeze, Sara leaned forward. Class cleared the oxer, and Sara quickly walked him, giving him another walk break.
Sara hoped that someone would come and ride with her.
Note: These jumps are not set at the height that I'm saying they are set at.
