Kari rolled her eyes when Ashlee interupted her. She walked out with Casey and the rest of her siblings insted. She too set up some jumps in the ring making sure they were exactly 2 stride apart. She walked back over by Casey, Ashley, Christina, and Keira. She waited patiently for Nicole.

Nicole watched the Downs girls carefully. She walked through making slight corrections in the distances. "Good, Christina. We're just going to move this one out a stride. Ashley, let's put this so its in a line, not on an angle. Much better," she said, nodding her approval. She conntinued walking through. "Very nice, Shallon, Keira. We'll work some of hte more advanced horses over yours Keira." She turned to Casey. "This is unique, Casey. I like what you've done here. This first vertical is going to turn off some horses, but it's definitly a challenge. This is certainly a large illusion here, we'll need to warn the riders before they take it; I want everyone to be prepared before they jump this in order to properly ride their horses to it. Very nice, Casey. I'm impressed." She gave the girl an approving smile and moved over to Kari. "This is perfectly strided, Kari. Very good job. Now, while we're waiting for Ashlee and Kyle to finish, I'm going to seperate you all and you're going to work together and set up a course for me. Let's see. Casey, you, Keira, Shallon, Ashley and Christina can work together. Kari, Kyle, and Ashlee Nicole can work together as well. There are two adjacent rings here. You'll find poles and standards on the side of each ring." She pointed to two side rings. "Go ahead and make me a course of eight jumps that's relatively challenging. After you do that, we're going to start riidng." She dismissed them with a nod. "Kyle, Ashlee, I still expect to see your distance jumps here."

Kari smiled and thanked Nicole. She listened carefully to the rest of Nicole's directions and her instructions. She wasn't too happy about working with Kyle or Ashlee but that's life. So insted of being a stick in the mud about it she started walking over toward the second ring. She saw all the different colored poles and standards on the side. She walked over to them and looked at all of them. "Ok, 8 jumps." She mumbled to herself. She turned around to see if Ashlee and Kyle were done yet.

Ashlee and Kyle spoke amongst themselves, trying to figure out who was going to go first. Kyle, the gentleman, let Ashlee go first, being the older and wiser brother. Ashlee tied Risk's reins to a wooden post nearby. Ashlee smiled as she started to set up jumps with the given poles. She decided to experiment and set up more advance and creative jumps to give her and Risk a boost in attention and advancement. Setting up the ever popular gate jump, Ashlee tugged on the pair of straight wings, setting the up vertically about one foot from eachother and bent back down for the gate piece. Ashlee pulled up the white hued wooden painted gate and set it up in the middle of the two wings, finishing off the jump. The jump was about 5.4 feet tall, a great crowd pleaser to get the audience on their feet. Perfect She thought as she went across the stadium for more jump pieces. Ashlee came back with an oxer on her mind as she dragged over the pieces needed to accomplish her fantasy. Setting up the puzzle corectly, the red brick oxer with removeable wing brick fascia and a standing solid filler pair stood with poise. She put the 3 poles into porportion in the six available cups and backed up, admiring her creation. But, it wasn't over quite yet. Waltzing over to all the possible hurdle assemblies, Ashlee decided to let her mind wonder, pulling out random pieces and putting her imagination to the test. She came with one pair of straight wings, 4 poles, 2 hanging ladders, a water tray to take the role as the liver pool that she slid slightly in front of her jump, and 8 cups. The ultimate jump. After putting the finishing touches onto all of her jumps and inspecting each and every one of them, Ashlee waited for Nicole to observe her creative jumps and walked over to Kari to help her out. "Ok. I'm here." Ashlee bent down to the rings. "Think. It has to top the other people so we can get more attention and maybe a better chance." She spoke. Meanwhile, Kyle was feeling a little bit left out. He was more for the experimental cross coutry jumps, so he'd give the crowd somethign to holler about. The famous corner arrowhead would be a fantastic idea, so he'd make it in a jiffy. With one arrowhead, 3 telescopic stands, 1 side rail, and 1 pair of flags to top it off. One jump completed, two more to go. Majesty had his main skills in spreads because he had the speed and length to clear them. This would be a superb time for showing off Maj's skills in that area. Going and returning with the goodies, Kyle simply set up an intermediatte corner. This includes the 2 jump standards, 2 poles, 2 cups, 1 telescopic stand, 1 corner cup to hold up the poles, and 1 two part standing ladder filler. Excellent choice indeed. But, there shall be ONE more to complete the set. Kyle was the one who would always save the best for last, so this one had to be awesome!! This next jump would be the ultimate tester and supreme. The winged standards are blue with yellow criss-crossed throughout them as they stood at 8ft tall. The three poles are cross rails, two as an "X" and one traveling through the middle of them both. Then, about six inches away from the jump is a spread of six-inches. In back of the spread, four stacked up on a brick pillar, flower boxes are lined up, causing some challenge in height and distance for horses to accomplish such a staggering jump. It may cause some problems on course, but Kyle was DEFINENTLY up for the chance. He stood back, waiting patiently for Nicole to get to Ashlee so then he could show off his shweet skills in constructing jumps and also joined Ashlee and Kari. "Hey, guys. Let's make this awesome!" Kyle exclaimed.

Nicole smiled. "Very nice, all of you. I'm impressed. Now before I work on these courses with you and your own horses, we're going to have a little test. I want to see how your form is, not just so much how you relate to your own horses. I have eight horses in my show barn right now. You may each pick one, first come, first serve. They're all very advanced and challenging and will allow me to see what you need to work on before we move on to your own horses. Please go to the barn, choose a horse, and tack up. The tack room will have everything you need and there are grooms throughout the barn that can help you." Casey nodded, herding her sisters to the barn. She left them staring in wonder at everything, and crossed the aisle to a horse that caught her breath. She read the nameplate carefully.Moonlight Sonata huh?she asked the grand white in front of her.She stroked the powerful neck, then left to get the tack. She soon returned and began to tack the animal up.
Keira shook her head, then waltzed down the aisle, coming to a stop when she saw a dark bay, the name plate stated "Sky Rocket".She nodded satisfyingly, then tacked him up.
Shallon walked over to "Gold Jewel'', who was a Dutch Warmblood, the one breed Shallon preferred over all other breeds for jumping. She tacked up quickly.
Ashley ran over to a stall and unlatched the door, slipping in to tack up the beautiful "Night on the Down".
Christina raced over to a stall, jumping, trying to see over the wood door. She sighed, unlatching it and swinging it open.A beautiful chestnut was there."Something to Talk About" was there.Chris grabbed a stool and tacked the large animal up.
Soon the girls were all at the ring: Casey with Moonlight Sonata, Keira with Sky Rocket, Shallon with Gold Jewel, Ashley with Night on the Down, and Chris tagging along with Something to Talk About.

Kari walked in after Casey and her family. She visited each horse in each stall. She stopped at one horse that cought her eye. She glanced at the name plate which read "River Dancer." Kari smiled and reached her hand into the stall for the beautiful mare to sniff. She sniffed her hand then blew into it. Kari smiled and went to get the tack. She tacked her up getting to know her a bit as she did. She was soon done and joined the others in the ring. "Good girl." Kari said patting her on the shouder. She looked at her beautiful conformation, which was about as perfect as you could get in any horse.

Nicole walked up and down the row of riders and horses, checking tack on each. "Very nice choice, Casey. He does very high levels of dressage, but will jump four foot or so fairly gracefully." She continued. "Keira, you're a lucky girl, he's an awesome horse, all around, cross country, show jumping, dressage and an awesome trail horse.
"I like the Dutch Warmbloods as well, Shallon. They're the best for jumping. He'll do anything you ask." She looked over to Ashley. "Another gorgeous horse, Ashley, one of our most comfortable horses in my opnion. "Christina, your horse there is another amazing." She turned to the otehers. "I know it sounds like I'm raving about all of my own horses, but these guys are the best of the best.
"Kari, superb choice as well. She's thin and light enough, especially on the forehand, so that she jumps beautifully, but she also does dressage quite well."
"All right, mount please." She waited and as the students followed instructions, she nodded and then motioned to the first girl after a few minutes. "Trot please, all of you. Posting. Extend the trot down the longside, collect it on the shorter sides. Work on getting your horse to accept the bit and using your seat."

Ashlee leaned against her great white wall jump, listening closely and accepting Nicole's praises with a smile on her face, glad that the instructor liked her creative hurdles. Kyle, on the other hand, was side-listening while he fastened his johpurs and adjusted his boots, making sure that the heel was under the ball of his foot, being that these were new boots and the "one size fits all teenagers," was incorrect. Still, he paid close attention to what Nicole was trying to teach. Kyle sailed over to Ashlee, trying not to bother the other participants listening to the speech of commands. Ashlee, being the girl who used to be known all through preschool through middle school as "Horse Women," knew the precise horse that would be needed for this competition to win. Kyle didn't really believe that all breeds jumped differently. Experiance and training was what mattered, not their heritage and pedigree. So, he'd look for the certain attributes that will stick out at him; that would catch the orbs of others as they showed their stuff. Kyle nudged Ashlee with his elbow to her shoulder, smirking. Sensing the competition between the two, Ashlee smirked back, lifting an eyebrow with a look of "Psh! You have NOTHING!" Kyle read her like a book and, as soon as Nicole finished listing the directions to become of, he took off down the arena to the cross-ties to claim his equine. Ashlee squinted her eyes, narrowing them down and leisurely across the turf to pick her horse, too. Kyle, entering the stalling area first, examined the horses to choose the most suitable one to match his experiance. He didn't want to look undermounted, not keeping up with all the horse's rhymthims, but he wanted to slightly be overmounted, keeping up and performing on the more advanced and challenging jumps that he'd set up earlier with speed and grace, not what some people would expect of him, but, today, he'd prove them ALL wrong and claim the victor's position as his own. For once, he'd be distintic among the crowd and stand out. A championship was in his near future. For he was superior; high above the standards and raising the stakes. The first horse he passed was a Dutch Warmblood, bay, masculine, stallion, with long legs and a strong neck. His muscles rippled as he slightly paced in his stall. The indented sign on his wooden door read: "Midnight Blues." The horse nickered as Kyle easily unlocked the door, not snapping it open while running like the other contestants performed, possibly spooking their selected horse. The immense equu stuck his nape into Kyle's pocket. With a chuckle Kyle spoke. "You smell that carrot, eh, boy?" Kyle pulled it out, the scents drifting around the cross-ties. "There ya go, boy. All your's." He stated, feeding the equine the delicious vegetable. "I'll be right back, Midnight." Kyle said, assuringly Midnight that he would be back. Sure enough, less than 3 minutes later, Kyle arrived back at the wooden box stall with a saddle slung over his shoulder with a bridle in his hand. On top of the saddle was the crop that he'd wouldn't use roughly. "Ello, sir. We shall be off to the contest in a jiffy. I just gotta get you tacked up." As his soft tones emitted, he quickly worked. "There." Kyle said once more, tightening the girth strap, observing to make sure it wasn't tight, but yet wasn't loose enough to wiggle the saddle down his hips. Grabbing the halter's reins, Kyle pulled Midnight Blues out of his stall and in the cross-ties, waiting for Ashlee to join him in the arena. Quickly tagging along to greet her chosen horse, Ashlee's eyes pined at bay Dutch Warmblood in the last stall. The mare's skull was held proudly as she shook her majestic banner rapidly, hoping for some attention. She hadn't looked to be ridden in days, weeks even. But, this would be the start of something new for both the rider and equine; the ride of a life time. Though this was just a little Clinic, every show counts. Every show matters. Every show could mean everything. "You must be River Dancer. How about I call ya Dancer for short?" She spoke softly, trying not to spook the newly discovered fae. Ashlee reached her hand for a touch of her velvety muzzle, it's soft mahagony hue texturized like feathers. She was a beauty, indeed; a true champion waiting to be unleashed into the arena and march proudly into the Winner's Circle. "I'm gonna go get us some tack so we can get the show on the road." Approximently 4 minutes later, Ashlee arrived with leather tack in hand and stepped inside the stall of Dancer. After tacking the horse from forelock to hoof, away they went to the arena. Kyle followed beside the pair, creating a quad. They greeted Nicole then went by the other players and formed some-what of an oval. Ashlee mounted River Dancer and stared at the other horses. One was white. The stallion had an arched boa, shortened legs and a flat back, made for Dressage. Not much to compete with Ashlee thought to herself, wondering why a Dressage horse was supposed to jump at a jumping clinic. Kyle swiftly mounted Midnight Blues, left foot in the stirrups irons first then swinning himself over to meet the other iron and place his foot in well. His boots weren't acting up like before and he already pressed down with his heels. Then, awaiting the following instructions from Nicole, Kyle rested his hands with the reins in them on the pommel of his English Jumping Saddle while Ashlee pat River Dancer's long lace.
